Shape the future of Europe’s digital economy

The European Decentralisation Institute convenes a select group of partners to redefine Europe’s digital society and economy. Together, our partners form a cross-industry coalition that represents the full breadth of the decentralisation ecosystem, and they help translate that collective expertise into policy that works.

We offer two types of partnerships: 1. strategic partners and 2. research partners

Strategic Partners

Strategic partners sit at the centre of European policymaking on digital infrastructure, decentralised technologies, and economic sovereignty. A strategic partnership with EDI means direct influence on the frameworks that will govern Europe’s digital transition, and early visibility into regulatory directions long before they reach public consultation.

Strategic Partners gain access to:

– A curated network of senior policymakers, elected officials, industry executives, and leading academic experts across Europe, engaged through the Institute’s ongoing work.

– Closed-door roundtable dialogues with C-level executives and political leaders, capped at thirty participants to preserve the quality of exchange.

– The Institute’s fellows, whose research shapes the evidence base for EU and national policy.

– Early intelligence on regulatory direction, giving partners first-mover advantage in markets where ambiguity is the dominant cost.

– Substantive involvement in EDI’s research agenda, with public attribution in policy briefs, reports, and recommendations submitted to the European Commission, national governments, and industry authorities.

– A seat on the EDI Advisory Board, the Institute’s principal consultative body, where partners help set strategic direction.

Contribution – Strategic partnership involves an annual contribution of €75,000.

Research Partners

Research partners are embedded in one project from start to finish. This means shaping the research questions at the outset, contributing data and expertise throughout, reviewing draft outputs, and participating in the roundtables and workshops convened around the project.

Research Partners gain access to:

– The full body of research produced within the project, including working papers, interview notes, data sets, and drafts not released publicly.

– The expert network convened for the project, typically comprising senior policymakers, regulators, academic researchers, and practitioners from across Europe.

– The roundtables, workshops, and closed-door sessions held during the project, which bring together participants that partners would rarely encounter in a single room.

– Public attribution in the final policy brief, report, or recommendation, and visibility in the launch activities that follow.

– Direct involvement in how findings are translated into policy recommendations, including co-authored outputs where the partner’s contribution warrants it.

Who this is for – Research partnership suits organisations with a clear stake in a specific policy question and the capacity to contribute substantively to the research. This includes industry associations, corporates with domain expertise, foundations, and public bodies who want to move beyond passive observation of the policy process.

Contribution – Research partnership involves a one-time contribution of €25,000.
